Our Programs in Academic Success...
provide our youth with the skills and resources they need to thrive within and beyond the classroom. At Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South, members engage in educational enrichment programs and receive support services that improve their academic performance while fostering their existing passions and encouraging them to discover new ones.
In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and our local school districts, we provide intentional, high-quality enrichment programs that reinforce and supplement our youth’s in-school learning. Daily after-school homework help and tutoring are provided to members ages 5-12 through our Power Hour program, and members ages 13-18 receive tailored academic support services in our designated Teen Centers.
Our Clubs offer an average of 15 hours of STEM programming per week through more than 50 homegrown and BGCA-developed STEM programs.
92% of teen Club members report improved grades after 4 weeks of participation in our after-school Study Hall program.

for a successful future and work to provide our youth with equitable access to modern technology and relevant educational enrichment. Our programs in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) provide our members with integrated, hands-on learning to solve complex problems today and in the future. These programs are designed to pique our members' interest in STEAM topics through fun, engaging activities such as chemistry experiments, hydroponic agriculture, weather observation and measurements, physics projects, and more.
As part of our commitment to supporting youth through their transitions to adulthood, we provide a comprehensive suite of academic programs designed to prepare our teens to achieve their goals and become successful, productive young adults. Through robust financial literacy education, college and career exploration services, paid internship placements, and postsecondary scholarship opportunities, our Clubs offer teen members practical, hands-on services that empower them to envision, plan for, and pursue successful futures.
