Goal One

Community Engagement & Expansion

Our first goal centers our work and underscores our commitment to expanding the number of youth who have access to our high-quality, impactful, and affordable programming.

Goal One Objectives:

  • Partner with school and community organizations to bring BGCMS programming and resources to youth wherever they are
  • Expand our impact for Club families and communities
  • Extend the Clubs’ continuum of care to support recent alumni

In achieving this goal and its objectives, we will:

Build a broader and more diverse network of partners and constituents

Lead the charge in creating a model of programming to support members in young adulthood

Understand the perspectives and needs of those we serve better than ever before

Engage our youth, families, and communities in developing the right programs and services

  • Year 1 Accomplishments | 2024-2025

Considerable progress has been made to maximize the spaces within our facilities during non-Club hours to allow for a robust calendar of retreats, programs, and rentals from schools,  community groups, and private parties.

We have begun implementing new Club-based special events and 5 End-of-Session Showcases (Fall 1, Fall 2, Winter, Spring 1, Spring 2) at each Clubhouse to highlight programs and services to families, partners, and the community.

We have expanded and formalized our Family Engagement Committee & Network, appointing and supporting co-chairs from among family members.

We have developed and deployed a defined pathway of programming and experiences for the new Tom & Mary Shields Scholars program and have awarded its inaugural recipient.

  • Year 2 Priorities | 2025-2026

Strengthen outreach and access for teens in Brockton and Taunton by connecting with priority schools, providing transportation, and expanding dedicated teen programming with the addition of a Teen Coordinator at the Taunton Club.

Build and solidify strong, ongoing relationships with school leadership and community organizations to enhance program visibility, engagement, and collaboration in both Brockton and Taunton.

Utilize survey results to assess the interests and needs of key stakeholder groups (including youth, parents, staff, and community members) to inform program development, enhance engagement strategies, and tailor services to better meet community needs.

Explore and define tween (grades 6-7) “life readiness” and teen (grades 8-12) “workforce readiness” program tracks to foster #FutureReady youth.

Identify a program delivery model of support for at least three years following high school/Club graduation (up to age 21).
