Derek Heim

Derek Heim has served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South since 2015 and under his leadership the organization has experienced a true renaissance – fundraising has increased, the full-time staff team has more than quadrupled in size, membership has surged, the Board of Directors has grown and diversified, and most importantly the quality and reach of Club programs has soared to new heights.

In 2018 Derek was honored with the prestigious “Vision & Spirit Award” for the Northeast Region by Boys & Girls Clubs of America in recognition of his many achievements with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South. In 2021, Derek received BGCA's Northeast Blue Spirit Award -- the highest honor bestowed by Jim Clark, the President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, to a local Club professional in a region. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated what it means to truly be a Club and community leader, and who have gone above and beyond to drive impact and make a difference.

Derek presently serves as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, working to support and advance the missions of nearly 40 Boys & Girls Clubs across the Commonwealth. Derek resides in Swansea, MA with his wife Julie, daughter Lorelei, and son Landon.
